Sr. Operations Manager
Our client, a growing logistics services provider, is seeking a Sr. Operations Manager to lead a single-site fulfillment operation within a technology-enabled and increasingly automated warehouse environment.
This leader will oversee daily warehouse execution while improving productivity, service, inventory accuracy, labor performance, and operational scalability. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, strategic operations leader who can strengthen the team, improve warehouse flow, and leverage systems and automation to support continued growth.
Responsibilities
- Lead all fulfillment operations, including receiving, storage, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
- Oversee managers, supervisors, and frontline employees across the facility.
- Ensure customer service levels, order accuracy, on-time shipping, productivity, and safety goals are achieved.
- Improve facility layout, product flow, labor planning, and warehouse processes.
- Optimize use of the warehouse management system, operational reporting, and automated warehouse technologies.
- Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, improve throughput, and increase capacity.
- Establish productivity standards and manage labor costs against customer demand.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counting, audits, and corrective-action processes.
- Lead continuous-improvement initiatives and root-cause problem solving.
- Partner with Customer Success, Sales, Transportation, Technology, and Finance.
- Develop site leadership, improve accountability, and support succession planning.
- Manage operating expenses and contribute to site-level profitability.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in fulfillment, distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, or 3PL operations.
- 5+ years leading supervisors, managers, or operational teams.
- Experience managing a warehouse, distribution center, or fulfillment facility.
- Experience working with warehouse automation, material-handling systems, or system-directed workflows.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management, labor planning, productivity, quality, and customer service.
- Experience using a warehouse management system and operational reporting tools.
- Demonstrated success improving processes and leading operational change.
- Strong analytical, communication, and people-leadership skills.
