Job Description: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to join our team. The Procurement Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of raw materials and ingredients essential to our production process. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of procurement principles, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers/vendors to ensure a diverse and reliable supply chain. Maintain relationships with existing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Sourcing and Purchasing: Source raw materials, ingredients, and packaging materials at the best possible prices without compromising quality. Coordinate with production and inventory teams to ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials.
- Cost Analysis and Budgeting: Conduct regular cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize procurement processes. Develop and manage procurement budgets in collaboration with finance and management teams.
- Quality Assurance: Work closely with quality assurance and compliance teams to ensure that all materials sourced meet our quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them. Monitor market trends, geopolitical factors, and other external influences that may impact procurement operations.
- Data Management: Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation, including contracts, purchase orders, and supplier agreements. Utilize procurement software and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify areas for process improvement and implement solutions to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of procurement operations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement software and systems.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements in the food industry.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
